Alana has called San Antonio her home for the past 4 years, previously living in a number of different states and even overseas. Alana received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Chicago and completed her master’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University. Alana has been a social worker since 2015 and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2018. Volunteering in the Peace Corps in Cameroon prompted her to pursue social work while providing care for ostracized populations, helping them find resources, cope with mental illness and medical conditions, while encouraging self-care and self-sustaining practices. Following her time overseas, she has cared for the homeless, provided substance abuse treatment, provided improved quality of life for hospice patients and their families, and supported individuals suffering mental health crisis. Alana enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, soaking up all of the small little moments that make life beautiful.
