Supervised by Dr. Laurie A. Hightower, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC-S, NCC, Registered Play Therapist–S, AMFT Approved Supervisor
Hey y’all my name is Marti Delgado, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, and my passion is helping others find balance and empowerment in their lives. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio (Go Roadrunners! 🎉) in 2021, and my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2023.
Since beginning my work in the mental health field over five years ago, I have continued to grow my clinical knowledge and experience. I have accrued several supervised hours providing individual and interpersonal therapy, working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I strive to create a brave, culturally responsive space where concerns can be explored openly without fear of judgment.
I am especially passionate about working with adolescents and adults seeking support with anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship dynamics, trauma, and grief. I bring warmth, humor, and a fresh perspective into the therapy room, and I believe that collaboration is key to meaningful change.
My therapeutic approach is rooted primarily in Solution-Focused Therapy, while also integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative, and Strength-Based modalities. I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where we address present-day concerns while gaining insight into underlying patterns. Your goals guide our work together, and I tailor each session to meet your unique needs.
If you are dealing with chronic pain, depression, or everyday stressors, I’m here to welcome and support you on your healing journey.
I am truly excited to be a part of the NuHope team community that values compassionate, comprehensive care and fosters a supportive environment for both clients and clinicians. Being part of NuHope means joining a team dedicated to innovation, growth, and healing, and I am honored to contribute my skills and passion to help make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve. Together, we work toward creating lasting change and resilience in our clients’ lives.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, listening to music, going to the gym, and cheering on the San Antonio Spurs Go Spurs Go! I also love spending time with my family. Whether we’re cooking together, laughing, or creating new memories, these moments help me recharge and remind me of the importance of connection something I carry into my work with clients.
